How is the WIP KPI calculated

Good morning,

Can you please provide information on what elements of UniPhi are used to calculate the WIP KPI, and what determines a high alert?

Hi Mel,

WIP is based off the earned value of the project. Earned value % is calculated by dividing actual costs by total forecasts cost. Earned value $ is calculated by multiplying this % by the total forecast revenue for the project. WIP is then the difference between this number and the invoiced value for the project.

This calculation is explained in our financial management manual (pages 13 and 14). This can be downloaded from our community page of the website

All these values can be seen in the Project Analysis report in the profitability tab. The indicator colours are proprietary so that project managers need to spend time if they wish to game the system.
